The world is big. The universe, bigger. Every time, we at Studio 31 believe we have heard every possible variation of love story, there comes another one of those ‘I can’t believe this is not a romcom movie yet’ story that knocks us off our feet. I can honestly say that this is one of the most surreal and peculiar stories that I have heard. So, let’s start at the beginning. Neha and Akshay had known each other for over a decade and been in love for years. Their story, as run-of-the-mill it might seem, is an especial and unique fantasy.
They shared a school before they became au courant with each other enough to fall in love. But why they even bothered to start talking to each other is the adorable part. This is where their story gets so endearing that you will remain clueless to the fact that you have a wide grin spread all over your face. Are you ready?
They became acquainted with each other in the ninth grade because they were the only kids in class with braces. A school with thousands of adolescents, a city with millions of people and the world even larger - the soulmates found each other through the shared misery of being the only people wearing a dental device used to straighten teeth. Told you it would knock you off your feet - should have probably braced yourself, pun intended.
The young friends found comfort in each other and a best friend. Time went by, as the young friends realized that everything that they so strongly felt for each other went beyond friendship. They were patient with their romance and calculated while simultaneously fiercely supportive and in love with each other. They were unyielding when time and distance tested their love and came out so gracefully victorious on the other end.
Neha and Akshay could basically write a book called “A beginner’s guide to Love” and I would definitely read it. I absolutely love how they are so uninhibitedly themselves with each other. It’s rare to come across couples who have been together for easily over a decade before they decide to tie the knot and still look like they are kids who are head over heels in love with each other.
The wedding was a pleasure to be a part of. Every region and religion of this diverse nation has its own set of wedding rituals, and this wedding was no different with its pure and sacred rituals being enforced. Their wedding was a phenomenal mixture of fun and culture as their families, though emotional, ensured that it was one of the best days of their lives.
Their love story is so epic that it made all of us here to root for them and want a book or movie about it. And for me specifically, made me want to write a book or movie about them but for now, I am settling for this blog. Studio 31 and I wish this couple, who absolutely need no luck from this world to make it, a lifetime of happiness.
